2014 Annual Meeting

Our annual meeting will be held on August 12th at 7:00 PM at the Holiday Inn (1710 N Kinser Pike). This is a great chance to meet your fellow neighbors, board members, and get useful information from our guest speakers.

This year’s guest speakers are:

Seth Inman

His educational and professional experience is based in natural resources and environmental interpretation. He is constantly researching plants and organic solutions to provide the most sustainable landscape for our local climate. He specializes in natural stone construction, ecosystem implementation for water and soil, themed landscape design and providing rare conifers and Japanese maples.

He collaborates with homeowners, municipalities, and government agencies regarding tree risk assessment. He specializes in tree injection, with focus towards battling the Emerald Ash Borer.

From February 2007 to present he has been co-owner of Bloomington Valley Nursery, where he and his partner work with a specialized staff to create a destination garden center that provides the best selection of unique plants, exclusive garden decor, and quality hard goods in our area.

Lee Huss

  • Urban Forester for the City of Bloomington

Lee Huss received his BSF from Purdue University, is an ISA Certified Arborist, and has been the Urban Forester for the City of Bloomington for 30 years.

Lee oversees the Urban Forestry program that is responsible for arboriculture practices on all public land in Bloomington. He also oversees a Parks & Recreation Department lumber recovery program that he humorously refers to as “No Log Left Behind.” Instead of sending usable logs to landfills or chopping them up for firewood, the department has them sawn and locally kiln dried.
