Home Security & Safety Tips from City of Bloomington Police Department

GENERAL HOME SECURITY

1) Make sure that windows and doors latch securely. Place dowel rods or a sturdy piece of wood in the window and/or door tracks.

2) Use door locks and install deadbolt locks.

3) Use or install peepholes on entry door. Be cautious about opening door for those you do not know.

Bloomington takes top national honors for America in Bloom competition

Congratulations to our Blue Ridge residents who were involved in the America in Bloom competition! The city of Bloomington won the 50,000-100,000 population category (competing against two other cities), and Bloomington also earned an overall award (competing against 28 cities) in the Urban Forestry criteria.
